Callaway County to Create Jobs and Improve Infrastructure
FULTON - Callaway County received a $300,000 grant Wednesday in order to create jobs and improve infrastructure.
OCCI, Inc., a general contractor company, will add 30 jobs at its Fulton plant under the Community Development Block Grant program.
"OCCI, Inc.'s creation of 30 new jobs and $1 million in private investment is a significant step for our state's manufacturing sector and economy in general," Nixon said.
The contractor company will add jobs in order to widen and pave County Road 256. The company also has future plans to expand a small, loading facility located on the Missouri River.
Callaway County will own and maintain the project.
The CDBG Industrial Infrastructure Grant aids local governments in the development of public infrastructure. The grant allows industries to build new facilities and expand and prevent the closing of existing facilities within the state.
Grant funds may help fund public streets, water or sewer lines, engineering and other public facilities in order to support the project.
