Calves Pose Danger to Drivers
CENTRALIA - Wandering calves are causing problems for Mid-Missouri drivers. As many as eight calves at a time have been seen on Centralia roads.
Cattle owner Justin Angell says a driver hit two calves at the intersection of Route Z and FF the night of September 7. One calf was killed and the other injured. The car was totalled but the driver and passengers were not hurt.
Angell says he is not sure how to fix the problem and this is the first time it has been an issue. He currently patrols his corn field every morning and night. Angell's daughter posted on Facebook asking drivers to slow down; since then Angell says drivers have been more careful.
