Camden County man found alive after fleeing authorities
CAMDEN COUNTY - A man who was reported missing to the Camden County Sheriff's Department in mid-March after allegedly getting washed down the Big Niangua River while running from deputies, was arrested in Benton County on Monday, April 18 on several warrants.
Camden County deputies last saw Matthew Valentine, the 37-year-old Camden County man, on March 8, near a tunnel on the Big Niangua River.
Deputies say he then attempted to swim away and was unsuccessful and then swept downstream.
Valentine is being held in the Camden County Adult Detention Facility and will appear before the court on May 31.
His disappearance is still under investigation.
