Campus Road Construction to Bring Greener Transportation
COLUMBIA - MU campus drivers will have to use "Greener" methods of transportation if they plan on using stewart road between Fourth and Fifth Streets.
Campus facilities says this area is important for getting on and off campus, so it's promising to maintain space for walkers and bikers to get through. However, if you're on the west side of campus a lot of you know this area has been closed for a long time. Some people say it's getting ridiculous, and that the road has been closed long enough...but one man thinks, it's not so bad.
Columbia Resident Nick Hartz said, "As long as there's alternative routes available, I'm not worried about it. I mean, two years is a long time, It's a bit of an inconvenience. But if it's necessary I'm okay with it."
The bio-mass fueled boiler will replace one coal burning boiler. After hitting the pavement through the area instead of driving for the next two years, campus users will have a slighltly cleaner means of energy production.
