Meanwhile, the annual Cardinals Caravan was launching Friday with plans for 19 stops in four states before returning to St. Louis on Monday night.
Mid-Missouri fans can catch current players Jon Jay, Joe Kelly, Fernando Salas and Jordan Swagerty, Cardinals alumni Tom Lawless and Ray King and emcee John Rooney on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, they will be in Jefferson City at the Missouri Farm Bureau Center at 6 p.m. Then on Saturday, you can catch them in Columbia at The Crossing at noon or in Moberly at the Moberly Municipal Auditorium at 6 p.m.
The 55th annual Baseball Writers Dinner is Sunday night at the Millennium Hotel in St. Louis. The dinner will honor several members of the 2012 team that came within a game of a second straight trip to the World Series. Catcher Yadier Molina will be honored as the St. Louis baseball man of the year.
