CARFAX Brings Jobs to Columbia By Expanding Building
COLUMBIA - The CARFAX data center in southeast Columbia celebrated the opening of the new addition to its building Tuesday. This expansion came after the facility reached capacity with nearly 150 employees. The company hopes to bring up to 50 new jobs to the area within the next five years.
CARFAX, founded in Columbia in 1984, purchased four acres next to its current facility in order to expand the building. This is the company's third expansion. Crews completed the construction of the addition in June and finished remodeling the old part of the building Tuesday. Officials said the expansion is a positive sign for local economic growth. CARFAX Director of Communications Larry Gamache said it's a great opportunity and welcomes anyone to the company.
The new addition includes a brand new kitchen, computer centers and team rooms. CARFAX offers vehicle history reports on used cards for sale.
