Carjacking suspects hurt in wreck; passenger dies
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Two men suspected of a carjacking in St. Louis are critically injured after an accident that killed a female passenger in their vehicle.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that 20-year-old Hanna Shuppert of Festus died Sunday night. The 18-year-old driver and a 20-year-old man in the car are hospitalized. A 20-year-old woman also in the car is also in critical condition.
Police sources told the newspaper that the two men took the 2014 Honda Accord in a carjacking Thursday. The victims were a couple in their 60s. The car was taken after they had pulled into their garage.
The car was speeding Sunday night when it struck a sign, a parked car and a tree.
Police said one of the men is a suspect in a December homicide.
