Catapulting Into Twilight
Engineering students designed and built a beanbag catapult, mock St. Louis Arches, and a game that demonstrates the principles of a hydrogen fuel cell. The students didn't begin building the bean-bag catapults until Monday, and designed both to have different launching systems. The group hopes to expand its exhibit during the Twilight Festival in September.
"We're hoping in September to do all four weeks, and actually bring back a lot of our student organizations, and have our solar car team out here, our formula one car out here, our airplane...model airplane team, canoe...concrete canoe team. So, we're gonna try and showcase a lot of our student organizations," Laura Forbes, of the MU College of Engineering, said.
The students will be out at the Twilight Festival again next week with their catapults and building block arches.
