Cause of fire that killed 3 children undetermined
JAMESON (AP) - A sheriff said the cause of a fire in northwest Missouri that killed three children likely will remain undetermined because the damage was too severe.
The children died and three other people were injured after a fire before midnight Saturday at a rural home near Jameson in Daviess County. The bodies of all three children, ages 6, 2 and 9 months, were all recovered by Monday afternoon.
Sheriff Ben Becerra said fire marshals determined the point of origin was in the home's living room but the exact cause was undetermined.
A 20-year-old man who was babysitting the children and two other children, ages 8 and 10, were able to escape the blaze. The 10-year-old was released from the hospital but the man and 8-year-old remained hospitalized.
