Cause of Quality Inn Fire Determined

COLUMBIA - The Columbia Fire Department has determined the cause of a fire on the Quality Inn roof.
The department released the following statement regarding the fire:
"Assistant Fire Marshal Lisa Todd investigated the fire and determined the cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction on the roof above the lobby that ignited the roofing materials."
A preliminary damage estimate of $20,000 was also issued. No one was hurt in the fire.
