Center for Creative Arts receives donation
ST. LOUIS (AP) - The Center for Creative Arts in St. Louis has received a $5 million donation that will help pay for two new officials at the institution.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports John and Alison Ferring made the donation and have made substantial donations in the past. They also have been contributors to projects at the St. Louis Public Library, Jazz at the Bistro and other civic efforts.
John Ferring is an owner of PLZ Aeroscience, which specializes in aerosol product manufacturing.
Ferring says their gift will help pay for dancers Antonio and Kirven Douthit-Boyd to become co-artistic directors of dance, among other things. They resigned from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and will start at the center in August.
