Central Methodist Women's Soccer Lands Four on All-HAAC Teams

KANSAS CITY -- The Central Methodist University women's soccer team had four players named to the Heart of America Athletic Conference 2012 All-Conference Women's Soccer Teams.

Defender Elizabeth Gayer was named to the first team. Midfielder Shawn Beard was a second-team choice, while midfielder Kayla Leeser and forward Lindie Adair were voted to the third team.

Gayer has been a three-year starter for the Eagles. Known as one of the most physical defenders in the conference, the Columbia, Mo., native led a defensive unit this season that ranked fifth in the HAAC in fewest goals allowed per game (1.72) and posted five shutouts.

Beard's 11 assists ranked second in the league and 10th in the NAIA. The Moberly, Mo., product was 15th in the NAIA in assists per game (0.61).

Leeser's team-high 12 goals ranked sixth in the HAAC, and she has led the team in goals each of the past two seasons. The Saint Peters, Mo., native ranked fourth in the conference and 46th in the NAIA in shots per game (4.17), fourth in the conference in game winning goals per game (0.22) and fifth in the league in shots on goal per game (2.11). Leeser's four game winning goals ranked 33rd in the NAIA. She was named HAAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 22
after scoring four goals in a three-game span.

Adair had seven goals for the Green and Black in 2012, good for second on the squad and 12th in the HAAC. The Boonville, Mo., native was 13th in the league in shots per game (2.53) and was voted the HAAC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 24 after scoring three goals and one assist in two games.
