Central Missouri Rennaisance Festival Kicks Off
KINGDOM CITY - Taking a step back in time, the Central Missouri Renaissance Festival began its two-day event earlier today in Kingdom City, Mo.
The festival features activities for all ages. Knights suited up in chainmail and battled in mock Middle Age fights.
Festival goers cam also watch magic shows and visit a steel making shop. Souvenirs will be sold throughout the event.
One participant, Walt Nichol, says the festival gives him an opportunity to get out of the modern world for a few hours.
"It's a neat experience. It's fun to kind of leave the modern world and go back to the Middle Ages; watch people in their fancy costumes," Nichol said.
The festival has been hosted in Missouri for five years, but this is the first time that Kingdom City has been the site.
Festivities continue tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $7 and free to children under 5 years old.
