Charges Filed After Fatal Forest Park Shooting
ST. LOUIS (AP) - The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's office has filed second-degree murder and armed robbery charges against two men after a holdup attempt in Forest Park led to a fatal shooting.
The charges were filed late Tuesday against Joshua Hunter and Jamaal Robinson. Both are 20. They were among three men who allegedly tried to rob a jogger and his girlfriend.
The incident happened about 11:15 p.m. Monday. The jogger was an off-duty St. Charles County deputy.
Police say when the three would-be robbers approached, the deputy saw that they were armed and pulled out his own gun. One of the men, 18-year-old Antonio Nash, was killed. Hunter and Robinson are hospitalized with bullet wounds.
Police say the deputy appeared to be justified in using lethal force.
