WASHINGTON- Advance Pierre Foods located in Enid Okla. is recalling approximately 1,200 pounds of chicken fried chicken breasts.
Today the U.S Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, announced the meat may contain small pieces of metal.
The following products are subject to recall: 22.75 oz. pouches of Fast Classics Chicken Fried Chicken Breasts and cases containing six, 22.75 oz pouches of Fast Classics Chicken Fried Chicken.
The chicken was distributed in Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.
The problem started when a small metal hand tool fell into a grinder. After two customer complaints the company used metal detectors to find the metal object. Though shipment was deterred after the discovery, much of the product being recalled is dispersed. So far there have been no reports of injury.
