KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A convicted sex offender arrested in Kansas City at a community college library on suspicion of downloading child pornography told investigators he had been exchanging images of child porn for more than a decade.

Court records show that 39-year-old Sean Lawrence was arrested last month at Metropolitan Community College's Penn Valley library. A federal affidavit says he told investigators he'd been trading hundreds of child porn images daily since 1999, not counting time he spent in prison for molesting an underage boy.

Lawrence is charged with transporting child pornography, and does not yet have an attorney.

MCC officials declined to discuss Lawrence's case because he's a student at the college and the focus of an ongoing investigation. The community college's policies, however, prohibit the unlawful use of its computer networks.
