Children safe after shots fired at Columbia home
COLUMBIA - Columbia police responded to shots fired at a home in the 600 block of Washington Avenue early Wednesday morning.
Police said a resident spoke with two men outside of the home. When the resident went back inside, one of the men shot at the house three times.
Four children and four other adults were inside the house when the shots were fired. There were no reported injuries.
Officers located three bullet holes on the exterior of the home which penetrated the walls and landed in the living room.
The suspect had fled the scene prior to officers' arrival and the investigation is ongoing.
