Christmas Trees in the Family
Wayne Harmon has been in the Christmas tree business since 1982, and says it's the families and the spirit this time of year that makes the off season worth it.
Harmon and his wife own Star Pines Christmas tree lot in Boonville. The husband and wife team love their work.
"It's just real exciting, because for them, it's the beginning of Christmas, they get to select their tree, they're real excited, it's gonna go home it's gonna get decorated and Christmas is coming," said Harmon.
It takes a full seven years for the trees to mature. But Harmon says the real trees are worth the wait.
It's just the natural realness, it's the odor. It's the whole combination of things that go into why you should buy a real tree," said Harmon
"Seeing people happy coming out, picking out their tree you know, they take it back to their house and the whole family is gonna gather around that tree and it's knowing you produced the tree that the entire family will be around at Christmas."
Because Christmas falls on a weekend this year, the Harmons say there's one more weekend than usual to spruce up for the holidays.
