Citizens Want Improvements
They've narrowed the ideas down to 13 topic groups including arts and culture, community character, and economic development.
Some of the ideas range from a Boone County Metropolitan Zoo, leaf and snow removal for all, and transportation improvements, including the airport and the bus system.
Last month more than 300 residents took part in the process.
"We as citizens, we're all volunteers, everyone here is just citizen in this community, and we're taking the ownership and the empowerment to give direction to what we want Columbia to be," Dianne Dreiner, Vision Committee co-chair, said.
After hearing from residents, the group will continue meeting and come up with a final plan to present to the council. The group hopes to get the plan to council this summer.
