NEOSHO (AP) — A former municipal court clerk in Missouri has been granted a suspended sentence after pleading guilty in a case involving more than $65,000 in missing court funds.

The Joplin Globe reports that 60-year-old Cynthia Troutman pleaded guilty Monday in Jasper County Circuit Court to an amended count of receiving stolen property.

Troutman's job as clerk included being responsible for the accounting of fines and bond money collected by the court. She was fired three years ago after receipted cash from a June 2014 court date went missing from her office.

The state auditor's office then found more than $65,000 in court funds missing over a three-year period beginning in 2011.

The plea requires Troutman serve five years on probation and pay $40,000 in restitution to the Carl Junction Municipal Court.
