Close Race for Ella's Hope in the Pepsi Refresh Project
COLUMBIA - Votes for the Pepsi Refresh Project were down to the wire on Tuesday and Ella's Hope, one of the groups trying to win 25,000 dollars for a good cause, held twelfth place -- two spots away from the winning spot.
The voting ended at 11 p.m. and the website said that winners would be posted the following morning at six.
Hope McPheeters said she wants the foundation to raise awareness and funding for early intervention of Autism. Her daughter, Ella, showed significant advances through therapy from early intervention.
If Ella's Hope wins, 5000 dollars will go to the Thompson Center for Autism, 10,000 will go towards starting costs, and the last 10,000 will create scholarships for families to use for therapy.
People could vote online or by texting Pepsi.
