CMU adds three soccer players to women's team
FAYETTE – Central Methodist University head women’s soccer coach Dan Schmidin announced Monday the signings of three players in time for the 2016-17 season this fall.
Goalkeeper Ashlynn Freeman from Moberly, defender and forward Kalie Huff from Nixa and forward Sarah Freiermuth from Lee’s Summit are the new signees for the Lady Eagles.
The Eagles finished 11-6-3 overall last season, losing to No. 7 Benedictine in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament. However, they went 7-1-2 in the second half of the season, and the team will return leading goal scorer Nicki Noreen who had 15 goals last year and starting goalkeeper Amy Clason-Messina.
Coach Schmidin said the team is having a good spring season setting the stage for a strong start in the fall.
