CMU Finishes Second at HAAC Women's Golf Championship

QUINCY, Ill. - Central Methodist finished second overall after the final day of the 2013 Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship at Spring Lake Country Club. The finish marks the highest for the program in school history.

Kelli Esquivel led the second-day charge for the Eagles, shooting a 91 on Tuesday to finish tied for sixth with a two-day total of 188 (97-91). Jessi Norton (94-98) and Ashley Spaulding (96-96) finished tied for 11th after each player carded a 192. Alannah Hustead placed 19th overall with a total of 194 (101-93), while Kayla Esquivel was 21st with a score of 202 (101-101).

Ka. Esquivel and Hustead were named to the All-HAAC team.

The Eagles five-member team totaled a 766 (388-378) and shot 10 strokes better than Monday but finished 19 back of tournament champion Baker (Kan.).
