CMU Men Fall in HAAC Soccer Quarterfinals

OLATHE, S -- Ninth-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene University scored a game-winning goal in the 89th minute to eliminate Central Methodist University from the 2012 Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament.

The Pioneers (12-1-6), the fourth seed in the tournament, earned the 1-0 win in the quarterfinal round over the Eagles (12-6-1), the fifth seed, with a goal by Kalev Saarna with 1:08 remaining in the match.

Goalkeeper Chris Ericksson made one save for the home team.

Net minder German Schacht recorded seven saves for the Green and Black.

The Eagles' Thyago Catharino had a team-high three shots in his final collegiate match. Erwin Sanchez, Jr. was credited with two.
