CMU's Utley, Rupard Voted NAIA Softball First Team All-Americans
Central Methodist's Aubrey Utley and Michele Rupard were named to the 2014 National Associates of Intercollegitate (NAIA) Softball All-America first team on Friday.
The two led the Eagles to a 43-8 record, the best in school history along with their highest national ranking ever at No. 14.
Utley was 26-3 with a 1.64 ERA and only allowed 43 earned runs. She added 138 strikeouts and opponents hit only .238 against the senior.
Utley did a lot from the circle but Michele Rupard did it all at the plate.
In 46 games this season Rupard led the team batting average (.402), hits (53), doubles (17), runs scored (45), slugging percentage (.689) and walks (39).
Her .386 career batting average is the third best in school history.
