KANSAS CITY -- Central Methodist University senior setter Sarah Lewey, sophomore right-side hitter Dana Peters and freshman middle hitter Julia Weber have been named to the 2012 Heart of America Athletic Conference honorable mention volleyball team.
Lewey earns postseason recognition for the second straight year after being voted to the All-HAAC second team in 2011. The Kansas City, Missouri native started 26 of 29 matches and ranked ninth in the conference with 4.7 assists per set. Lewey finishes her collegiate career with 2,294 assists in four seasons with the Eagles.
Peters, who appeared in all 29 matches, led Central Methodist with 191 kills and 2.03 kills per game. Peters, who hails from Waverly, Missouri, ranked third on the squad with 40 total blocks.
In only her first season in the green and black, Weber ranked third in the league in blocks per set (1.1). The Jackson, Missouri product appeared in all 29 matches for Central Methodist and ranked 31st in the NAIA in blocks per game (1.090) as she had 104 of the team's 190.5 blocks. Weber also posted 1.46 kills per game.
