CMU Women's Basketball Still Undefeated
COLUMBIA - Central Methodist University continues their basketball winning streak after a 110-66 victory over Central Christian College of the Bible on Monday.
Several CMU girls had performances that helped them reach career highs and break records.
Morgan Vetter scored nine points from behind the arc, reaching her career high of 31 points and breaking the previous CMU record. In the first half alone she scored 17 points.
Taylor Cornelison contributed 12 points and six rebounds. Taylor Larson scored 11 points and broke her career high in just 10 minutes, while Nakia Robinson added 11 and Jesse Ellis gave an additional 10.
For the Saints: Kelsi Mueller trailed Vetter with 26 points, Kylie Ducat had 18, Tianna Terry gave 11, and Katelynn Frazier tallied 10.
Central Christian started strong offensively and held the lead, but Central Methodist quickly came back and had a 27-point advantage in the first 20 minutes. They kept their attack strong in the second half, and within the first five minutes of play, increased their lead to 47 points.
The Eagles finished with 33 assists; a season high, and nine turnovers; a season low.
Their 110-point total is the second most points scored in a single game, and is only 11 points from the current record.
CMU will next play Presentation College in South Dakota on Friday, November 22. Tip off is 7 PM.
