ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Falcons announced on Saturday they have signed former Missouri Tiger tight end Chase Coffman. Coffman becomes the third Mizzou alum on the Falcons team joining linebacker Sean Weatherspoon and safety William Moore.
The 6 foot 6, 250 pounds TE was originally selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Coffman spent the 2011 season on the Bengals practice squad after playing in six games in 2010. He has recorded three receptions for 30 yards in six career games.
The former Tiger played all four seasons at Mizzou where he set an NCAA record for tight ends with 247 catches. Coffman also ranks second among tight ends in NCAA history with 2,659 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns.
