Cole County Deputy Seizes 26 Grams of Meth

COLE COUNTY, Mo. - On Thursday, 02/07/13, at approximately 1330 hrs, Cole County Deputy Todd Marsey stopped a vehicle on US Bus 50 at Apache Trail. The reference of the stop was a routine traffic violation. During the stop, and while speaking with Mr. Belt, DEP Marsey became suspicious of further criminal behavior. Mr. Belt consented to DEP Marsey searching him, during which a meth pipe was discovered. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded 26 grams of methamphetamine packaged for distribution

Mr. Belt was taken into custody without incident. A total of 26 grams of methamphetamine, valued at over $3,100 dollars, was seized and place into evidence. He was taken to the Cole County Jail for processing. Mr. Belt later posted a $5,000 bond for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a Class B Felony, and was released.
