COLE COUNTY - A Cole County man died Saturday night after he struck a guard rail and was ejected from his car.

The accident occurred just after 10 p.m. Saturday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23-year old Cameron Boersig was driving east on US-54 and was going on-and-off the road several times before hitting the guardrail.

Upon hitting the guardrail, Boersig was sent flying from his car into the passing lane. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

This is Troop F's fifth fatality in September and 47th in 2016, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
