Columbia Board to Tweak Bond Issue
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Board of Education will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. to discuss a possible bond issue/operating levy vote for April 2012.
This is the final opportunity to voice issues with the tax rate increase proposal before asking voters to approve a $50 million bond issue and 52-cent tax rate increase.
If the district has no new money coming in, the board has said it will need to begin defecit spending by the 2012-2013 school year.
The district must submit the tax increase proposal to the Boone County Clerk by January 24th in order to be on the April ballot.
The meeting is at the District Administration Building, 1818 W. Worley Street.
