Columbia Building Permit Rate Set to Increase October 1
COLUMBIA - Beginning Oct. 1, the Building and Site Development will impose a new permit fee mulitplier of $2.25 per thousand dollars of valuation.
The change marks the first time since 1996 that the city has increased the fees for building permits. The multiplier will apply to all commercial and residential building permits and will help make the building permit fee calculation simpler and easier to understand.
Valuations will be calculated by city staff based on the square footage construction cost established by the International Code Council.
