Columbia City Council Talks Clark Lane Amendments
COLUMBIA - Amendments to reduce speed limits and widen shoulders along Clark Lane are up for discussion at Monday's Columbia City Council meeting.
The Missouri Department of Transportation conducted a speed study in December 2013, and if approved by the council, would lessen speeds by five miles-per-hour on Clark and Ballenger Lanes.
This would change Route PP/Clark Lane from 45 mph to 40, Route PP/Ballenger Lane from 50 mph to 45, and proposes Route PP/Mexico Gravel Road to remain at 50 mph.
City council members will also vote to authorize construction to widen both shoulders along Clark Lane from Woodland Springs Court to McKee Street. This comes after a public hearing held in January, and the council will call for construction purchasing bids.
