Columbia College Cougars remain undefeated in AMC
COLUMBIA - The Columbia College Cougars improved to 16-7 on the season and 10-0 in conference play this afternoon. The team hosted the Park University Pirates and beat them in a 5-4 walk-off win in the bottom of the ninth.
Neither team was able to score in the first few innings of the game. The Pirates had a 3-0 lead by the top of the third inning. The Cougars, however, answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning. The Cougars then scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 4-3 lead over the Pirates.
The 4-3 lead stood until the Pirates tied the game going into the bottom of the ninth. The Cougars were able to load the bases for Kenny Piper who hit up the middle letting Ethan Howser score from third and handing the Cougars their eighth straight win.
The Cougars wills face Morthland College in a non-conference matchup on Friday, March 17 at 6 p.m.
