Columbia College Volleyball Advances to Semifinals
SIOUX CITY, IA - The Columbia College volleyball team won 3-1 against College of Idaho in the quarterfinal round of the NAIA National Championships.
The Cougars won their 1st, 3rd, and 4th sets against the Coyotes today, with scores of 25-22, 25-20, and 25-22. Their one lost set had a score of 23-25.
Columbia had a .271 hitting percentage in the match, slightly higher than that of College of Idaho.
Vesna Trivunovic led the team with 15 kills, 3 aces, and 6 digs. Serena Jenkins was right behind her with 14 kills and 11 digs, while Nicole Murphy had 10 kills and 6 blocks. Setter Paula Ferreira led with 43 assists, 4 blocks, and 14 digs. Aleah Hayes had 12 digs.
Columbia College advances to the semifinal round to play top seeded Concordia (Calif.) University on Saturday, December 3rd at 10:00 a.m.
