Columbia Imagined Holds Second Meeting
COLUMBIA - The Community Development Department held it's second meeting Monday regarding the Columbia Imagined comprehensive task plan.
Columbia Imagined will be a long-term, goal-oriented plan that provides the City of Columbia with a framework for future policy-making, projects, and master planning efforts.
The plan has six phases and is currently in the second stage called "Who are we?" There are seven theme areas that the plan has been crafted around including; land use and growth management; environmental mangagement; infrastructure; mobility, collectivity and accessibility; economic development; intergovernmental cooperation; and livable and sustainable communities. The purpose of this phase is to organize information and let the community discuss concerns they have.
Community Development Director Tim Teddy said these meetings are intended to get feedback and inform people about the status of the plan.
