COLUMBIA - A 25-year-old Columbia man is arrested on multiple charges, including an unlawful use of a weapon charge, after the Columbia Police responded to shots fired on Elm Grove Drive Thursday evening.
The Columbia Police Department released a statement saying the passenger of a Jeep Cherokee, Brock Griffith, fired two shots from a handgun. The report says the shots were fired into the air, and no one was injured.
When the police arrived, Griffith took off running until police caught him and found a loaded, stolen hand gun in Griffith's pocket. The gun was stolen from a Columbia Police Department case in 2009.
Griffith is being held on bond for stolen property, resisting arrest, concealing a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and posession of drug paraphernalia.
