CHILLICOTHE - Suspected kidnapper Brian Adkison appeared in a Livingston County courtroom Tuesday morning where he's charged with kidnapping, domestic assault and violation of a protection order.

During Tuesday's pre-trial conference, the judge in the case heard several motions ahead of a two day jury trial scheduled for Feb. 5 and 6. The case was moved to Livingston County from Caldwell County where it originated.

Court documents say police responded to reports of a possible missing person June 15, 2013. The report says the victim left her residence to go for a run and walk her dog. The statement goes on to say Adkison, of Columbia, then unlawfully took the victim, an MU student at the time, without her consent while she was walking on Tom Creek Road in Caldwell County. It says she jumped out of the truck he was driving and he picked her up and put her back in the truck. It then says the victim found a screwdriver and stabbed Adkison in the neck.

Adkison was just in court in Boone County Jan. 7-9 for a jury trial on burglary, forcible rape and deviate sexual assault. He was accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home and raping her, but was acquitted on the burglary charge and a judge declared a mistrial on the forcible rape and deviate sexual assault charges.

Also in Caldwell County, Adkison is accused in a separate case of escaping from the county detention center Aug. 11, 2013 and damaging jail property. Court documents say Adkison knowingly escaped while in custody for a felony. The report says he forcibly broke through the ceiling of his jail cell.

In addition to the charges in Boone and Caldwell counties, Adkison faces charges in four other Missouri counties.

Here's a timeline of all the pending cases against Adkison.
