Columbia Man Does Wright Thing for Troops
The Country Club of Missouri is among numerous area golf courses pitching in by donating about 1,000 practice range balls. Wright is collecting them in the back of his pickup truck, before boxing them up and shipping them to Iraq.
Johnathan Tips from the Country Club of Missouri said, "It just makes me feel good, but it's just something to do for them in light of what they're doing for us. So it's more of a gift for them than trying to make me feel good about it."
The project started when Wright found out Col. Marty Robinson, a neighbor serving in Iraq, wanted some golf balls. Robinson is a state judge advocate for the Missouri Army National Guard.
