Columbia Man Faces Arson Charges
COLUMBIA - Columbia Police arrested Kenneth Arnhart Monday on charges of first degree arson and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to 1108 North Garth around 11:00 p.m. Sunday after homeowners smelled smoke inside the home.
The investigation showed Arnhart allegedly stuffed a roll of paper towels into a coffee container and placed them on top of the stove. Police investigators said he then turned the gas oven on and lit the paper towels on fire.
Arnhart's possession of drug paraphernalia bond has been set at $500. A judge has not set his arson bond yet.
