Columbia man illegally had firearm
BOONE COUNTY - A convicted felon is dealing with several gun charges after he was in possession of a shotgun during a shots fired incident, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies went to the 6600 Block of Nelson Drive at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday to investigate reports of gun shots in the area.
The department said 40-year-old Ernest Stevens from Columbia had a shotgun during the incident.
Stevens has other prior felony convictions and was not allowed to be in possession of a firearm.
Stevens paid the bond amount and was released from the Boone County Jail Wednesday morning around 1:30 a.m. His bond was set for $4,500.
