Columbia man injured in overnight armed robbery
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department said Saturday it's looking for two suspects after an early morning armed robbery.
CPD said the robbery happened around 3 Saturday morning on the 1700 block of Stanford Drive.
The Columbia Police Department found an 18-year-old man with cuts to his face. Officers said two suspects kicked in the front door of the home while the residents were sleeping. The two suspects then approached the man and demanded money. According the Columbia Police Department, no property was taken from the home.
Police said one of the suspects injured the man by hitting him in the face with a handgun. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A 50-year-old woman and a 93-year-old man were also home at the time of the robbery. CPD said the suspects encountered the woman when the left the home. Both the 93-year-old man and woman were not injured.
