Columbia man pleads guilty to child sex trafficking
COLUMBIA - A man pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to child sex trafficking.
35-year-old Kenyata D. Miles, of Columbia, admitted to booking two rooms for two nights at the Quail's Nest Inn in Osage Beach back in April 2013. Law enforcement officers found a 16-year-old girl who was reported missing in one of the rooms, and two women with Miles in an adjacent room.
There were advertisements posted on Backpage.com promoting the availability of the child victim and one of the women for sexual services.
Miles would arrange hotel reservations and provide transportation to the hotel.
A sentencing hearing will be scheduled after the completion of a pre-sentence investigation by the United States Probation Office.
Miles was charged in 2014, and is looking at a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years, with a possible sentence of life in prison.
