COLUMBIA - The Long-Range Facilities Committee met Tuesday to discuss site locations for a new elementary school on the south side of Columbia.

Columbia Public Schools and local realtor John John have met to discuss available properties for the location of the school. They narrowed it down to three prospective sites:

-Scott Boulevard and Route KK

-Route K and Old Plank Road

-Route K and Highpoint Lane

The committee will have site tours of the three leading options on Saturday and will then move forward with a more formal site evaluation through an engineering and environmental survey.

The school is slated to open in 2016.
