Columbia Occupiers Withstand Rain
COLUMBIA - After Wednesday evening's showers, the occupiers in downtown Columbia huddled under the key at City Hall. During the last week, the occupiers say they have collected donations from people driving by. Now on the protesting site they have blankets, ponchos, tarps, snacks, and medical supplies.
Although occupier Docter Carny says he would like a shelter at City Hall for public use, it isn't totally necessary. "People forget that all you need to survive is food, water, air and shelter," he said.
For future weather conditions, Carny says the group considers moving to a park where tents are allowed. As of now, city regulations prohibit structures on the protesting site.
