Columbia police investigating morning shooting
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department found a man shot in the leg early Friday morning after responding to several calls from area residents saying they heard gun shots.
Just after midnight Friday, CPD arrived at the 600 block of Hirth Avenue, off of West Worley Street, and found the man, 27, inside an area residence. EMS took the victim to a local hospital, and he is reported to be in stable condition.
CPD also found several shell casings in the roadway and near the front porch of the residence. The investigation is ongoing.
