Columbia power outage causes problems for 2,500 residents
COLUMBIA - Nearly 2,500 Columbia residents experienced a power outage near College Avenue and Stadium Boulevard for about 20 minutes Thursday morning.
Connie Kacprowicz, Utility Services Specialist with Columbia Water and Light, said it's likely that lightning hit a utility pole, causing the power to go out.
The outage also affected traffic signals on College Avenue.
As of 10:30 a.m., power had been restored to all Columbia Water and Light customers.
