Columbia to Discuss Beautifying Stadium, Old 63 Intersection
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Area Transportation Study Organization Coordinating Committee (CATSO) plans to meet Thursday at 2:30 p.m. to talk about sprucing up an intersection.
The committee plans to discuss potential renovations for the intersection of Old 63 and Stadium Boulevard. The plans include intersection islands and pedestrian crossings. The islands would have landscape features to make the intersection look more visually appealing.
MoDOT and the City of Columbia would work on the project together through the MoDOT share program.
The funding for the potential project would come from capital improvement sales tax revenues. By 2016, the project proposes $1,434,090 would be spent to complete the project.
On a CATSO meeting agenda, it said the technical committee reviewed the proposed amendment at its last meeting on May 7. No revisions were made to the project at that time. The committee voted to a pass a motion to forward the amendment to the coordinating committee for review.
No date has been set to begin the project.
