Columbia to hold open house for proposed recycling drop-off
COLUMBIA - City officials are inviting the public to attend an open house Wednesday evening at Gentry Middle School where they will go over the proposed designs for a new recycling drop-off location on South Providence Road.
The proposed location is on the outer road just north of Nifong Boulevard. That's the former home of Columbia Fire Station 7.
At the meeting, officials will present the proposed designs for the new location and will also present possible improvements for the recycling drop-off location located on State Farm Parkway.
Some residents at the State Farm Parkway location said they would be in favor of a new site because the existing containers are often full. They said this causes some recyclables to fall out and blow around the parking lot.
The meeting will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
