Committee Recommends Cuts to State's Tax Credits
JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Tax Credit Review Commission reccommended cuts for the state's system of tax credit on November 16. One of the cuts suggested was film credits. The state is giving money to Hollywood filmmakers to produce movies in Missouri, but the commission didn't see the benefits.
A subcommittee voted twice against making deep cuts to historic preservation tax credits, which given incentives to develpoers that are fixing up old buildings. The historic tax credits are on the schedule again at 9 a.m. on November 17 at the Truman Hotel.
Ultimately, the recommendations are just recommendations. Lawmakers at the capitol will have the final say in the spring.
